Job Description

Brooklyn Bowl, located in the LINQ Promenade in the heart of the fabulous Las Vegas Strip, has redefined the destination entertainment experience. Following in the footsteps of our original Brooklyn location, noted as “one of the most incredible places on Earth,” by Rolling Stone, we’ve stacked the deck for a truly unforgettable experience.

With three levels spanning nearly 80,000 square feet, it’s one of the largest music venues in America. Brooklyn Bowl integrates a premier performance venue, food by Blue Ribbon, bars which feature local craft brewed beers, and 32 bowling lanes which give guests a unique place to relax, eat, drink and watch a performance.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Review menus and prepare food needed
  • Assure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with company procedures and federal, state and local health codes and regulations
  • Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
  • Follow all sanitation guidelines
  • Become familiar with new menu items/dishes
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; military school or formal on the job training preferred.  Training from a culinary school will be an asset
  • Experience with quantity food preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of proper nutritional requirements
  • Listening: Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from their chefs
  • Manual Dexterity: Prep cooks will be using their hands to cut and chop food, as well as other tasks
  • Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills.  Stamina is needed
  • Teamwork:  Prep cooks are part of a team, and in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a team player and level-headed will help immensely
  • Must have a state issued Health Card
  • Availability to work all shifts, during weekends and evenings
