Job Description

Brooklyn Bowl has redefined the destination entertainment experience. “One of the most incredible places on earth,” according to Rolling Stone, Brooklyn Bowl integrates a premier performance venue, food by Blue Ribbon, bars which feature local craft brewed beers, and 32 bowling lanes which give guests a unique place to relax, eat, drink and watch a performance.

 

Greets guests at the entrance and seats them as quickly as possible. Maintains the restaurant seating chart and ensures that guests are evenly distributed throughout open stations. Answers the telephone in a professional manner. Assists the management staff in the coordination of all employees to ensure efficient service to the guests.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests at entrance and inquire as to any special seating needs.
  • Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner.
  • Seat guest in appropriate section taking in to account any special requests.
  • Maintain seating so that other Host Persons do not take guests to an occupied table.
  • Notify Chef and management when large parties, private parties and reservations have arrived.
  • Periodically check with guests to assure all needs and requests are being met.
  • Ensures that restaurant employees know where they are working and with whom.
  • Have general knowledge of all menu items and their preparation procedures.
  • Distributes guests throughout the restaurant as evenly as possible as not to overload any area.
  • Assists management in initiating the smooth and efficient operation of service.
  • Sees to it guests are comfortable and served within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Notifies management of any dining room problems.
  • Administer work schedule set by management.
  • Assist Food Servers when minor discrepancies occur and get management if the problem can't be resolved without making any check adjustment.
  • Report all problems involving employees to management.
  • Additional side work and other related duties as requested by the restaurant management; in accordance with all Health Code and Alcohol Regulations.
  • Implements the restaurant employee break schedule.
  • Work together as part of a team to provide the best overall guest experience.

Requirements

NON-PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service, retail sales, or food service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English.
  • Will require valid Southern Nevada health district card.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume restaurant.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to move throughout the restaurant during the entire shift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with loud music, smoke and crowds for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift.
